Britney's Dad In Complete Control

Britney Spears may have officially returned to earth, but that doesn't mean the 26-year-old is taking charge of her personal or financial affairs anytime soon.
No, that weighty decision was left up to a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner who on Tuesday afternoon granted Jamie Spears, Britney's attentive daddy, permanent conservatorship over his eldest daughter's assets.
After a drawn out closed-doors meeting, complete with a thorough medical evaluation of Miss Spears, Commissioner Reva Goetz stated that the permanent conservatorship is "necessary and appropriate."
Even Britney's court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham said the pop singer wished that he "not object" to the conservatorship deal.
However, experts agree that in this case, "permanent" doesn't necessarily mean "forever."
"[Don't] read too much into the word 'permanent,'" explained Terry K. Wasserman, a mental health lawyer not involved with this case. "In many cases, it's just a formality to avoid having to renew a temporary status over and over again."
