It's hard to understand why TV reporters like Mike Seidel, seen here covering Hurricane Ike, find it necessary to stand right in the middle of hurricanes. Does the wind blowing through the microphone and lack of balance really add to the coverage? What's not hard to understand is why videos of those same reporters getting battered by wind, rain, and flying projectiles are indescribably entertaining.
