Irritable McCain Team Lashes Out Over Story About Its Lobbyist Campaign Manager

An angry McCain team kicked back today at the New York Times story about how campaign manager Rick Davis' lobbying firm was was receiving payments from Freddie Mac right up until the mortgage giant collapsed and was taken over by the government. (Roll Call and Newsweek also had the story, but the McCain team has apparently decided to focus on the Times because a) conservatives already view it as the root of all evil, and b) pointing out that other news organizations are also reporting the story makes it look kind of, well, true.) The McCain response?
