There's nothing like a little morning e-mail announcing "You will be notified when your employment is terminated"—which is of course exactly what Lehman Brothers employees found in their inbox today. Pretty much everyone over at the company's headquarters in midtown Manhattan looked shell-shocked this afternoon, and not just those foreigners who feared they'd be deported now that they've lost their jobs.

At least the media was there to capture the pain!
