  • Oh, Forbes. Most of your ham-fisted listicles—Top 10 Fastest Fictional Cars—are nothing more than transparent link-bait with no editorial value whatsoever, but every now and then a gem slips through the cracks. Like today's awesome breakdown of "Top Earning Pirates!"

    Bonus points for being doubly topical: not only is today "International Talk Like a Pirate Day," but the writer also draws parallels between pirates and swashbuckling investment bankers. "A few drunken sailors getting themselves nicked could negate the entire profit," Matt Woolsey points out. That'd be you, AIG and Lehman! Lets hope that Hank Paulson doesn't come down with a particularly nasty case of scurvy while trying to save our economy!

    And yes, it is a rule that every post about pirates must contain either a bad "arrrgh" or scurvy joke. [Arrrgh. -- Ed.]
