Fashion Week, Thank God, Is Finally Over

Fashion Week fizzled out Friday night and the rain obliterated whatever ounce of will was left to attend leftover shows (okay, so Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan showed, which was kind of exciting, but only as exciting as seeing the same damn poplin shirts and slouchy jumpsuits can be). Still, we did manage to schlup to a few final collections because we are slaves to style and troopers of trends—and because who could know beforehand how good the swag will or will not be?
The crowd at Francis by Christian Francis Roth was underwhelming, with a dozen or so seats left to be filled as the show started. But a collection of bright young fashion things from Teen Vogue were there to cheer on the designer darling of the '90s who sent out a typical old-guy-who-wants-to-be-cool-with-the-kids collection of junior-high appropriate dresses and patchworked madras prints (Really? Didn't American Eagle did that like three years ago). But everyone got snacks in the gift bag, and you know how we feel about a delicious cookie.
