Last week, The View's resident conservative Elizabeth Hasselbeck praised Cindy McCain's appearance on the show. (Unlike some other potential first ladies, Hasselbeck noted, when Cindy acted as co-host she didn't bring a list of topics that were off-limits. She was also "fresh as could be." Not like that sheath-dress loving sourpuss Michelle Obama.) But in a recent speech at a Republican fundraiser in Michigan, Cindy made it clear that, after a recent joint appearance with her husband, those happy lady friendship feelings were no longer mutual.

"I don't know if you saw The View yesterday," Cindy told assembled guests, "they picked our bones clean." She added: ""in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and that's not what they are believing."

During the couple's recent appearance on the View couch, Joy Behar confronted the presidential nominee about dishonest campaign ads, Barbara Walters pressed Cindy for her personal beliefs on Roe v. Wade, and all parties displayed a general interest in knowing the number of houses the couple owned. Maybe she should have brought a list after all!
