Every day, great stories pass us by, for reasons of laziness, disinterest, or plain old stupidity. Here's what we missed today, so you don't have to!

Things we talked about but never got it together to write up:
• The sexy texting mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, will probably be canned tomorrow.
• Today was the day that John McCain officially declared war on the media! Mostly because they had the nerve to talk about his VP candidate. This is ridiculous.
• In Chicago, 1,250 public school kids ditched out on the first day of school and went up to the hoity-toity suburbs to enroll in better schools. Suck it, Ferris Bueller!
