The PUMAs Are Stirring

Over on hillaryclintonforum.net, disappointed Hill supporters (otherwise known as PUMAs or "Party Unity My Ass-ers") are already registering reactions to John McCain's VP pick of pro-life, pro-drilling Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Below, a few selections. (As always, [sic] implied throughout:)

Says hillary1: "HOPE ITS PALIN, I WOULD VOTE TWICE JUST TO STICK IT TO OBAMA"

Says Vanity4Hillary: "yay. McCain need to put her on his myspace main pic than they will go in my top friends."

Says joeysky18: "Hoo Ray! Fu*k the DNC. Fu*k Obama. They are so fu*k up. They brushed off the women base like dirt. and the GOP pick them up. Go McCain. Go GO OG !"

Damn right there's more:

Says Bella: "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buuuuurn Obama Buuuurn! What a slap in the face. If it's Palin, I will put blood and sweat into campaigning for that team."

MaryinOregon strikes a particularly ominous note: "Do you all hear the sound of the running feet of all the women the Obama camp tossed aside? It is THUNDEROUS!!!!"

FloridaDawn provides some trenchant analysis of Palin's relevant experience: "McCain has picked PALIN!!! I am THRILLED! AS for the Dums whining that she doens't have experience running things—SHE HAS FIVE KIDS!! TRUST ME! SHE KNOWS HOW TO RUN THINGS!"

And user Gumshew trusts that, somewhere, her pantsuited queen of hearts is smiling: "What I really like about this choice is that Palins' IDEALS are so much like Hillarys'. And, I would gesture to say HILLARY is very proud at this moment."

So ... who else is psyched for November?

I feel like these women have set the women's movement back about 40 years. It's not about voting for someone just because they have a vagina, people. You don't have to vote for Obama, but for Pete's sake, how could you support Hillary and then vote for THESE people?!

Excellent! Plus, she's cute too. Julia Allison will totally vote for her.

Considering the tenor of these people's comments, the Democrats are far better off without them.

Note to Swifter: A little out of your depth over here, Slower.

should "slower" "dial it down" sailor?

You know your hall monitoring skills could really come in handy over at that hillaryclintonforum.net or whatever the hell it's called.

Scoff.

Thanks, Yoko. Brilliantly insightful as usual.

Just a reminder, Hillary lost Obama won end of story. These hold outs seem to want Obama to bow down and kiss Hillary's foot while apologizing for winning. I wonder if Obama was white this scenario would be different.

You're so welcome, Sailor! Everybody loves a z-z-z-zinger!

That PUMA rep on Hardball looked completely crazy, like an actual puma had slept on top of her.

This is exactly why women should not be allowed to vote. They just get too emotional.

It is absolutely amazing that women are at all enticed by this condescending and sexist pick. it just goes to show one of the primary reasons that republicans do better than democrats in the campaigning process. democratic campaigns make the mistake of thinking that americans, on the whole, are swayed by logic. republicans think of voters as stupid, and sadly, they are somewhat closer to the mark. to say that palin and hillary share the same ideals is outlandish. unbelievable. who the fuck are these people?!?!?!?!?!?

It is horribly sickening that former Hillary supporters can just switch to McCain because he chose Palin. It makes no sense whatsoever! Hillary=DEMOCRAT, Palin=REPUBLICAN. There should be no way that former Hillary supporters should agree with Palin's views because they are completely different. It's a disgrace to every intelligent female that ever lived that this is possible!

Susan B. Anthony would strangle pumas with her bare hands.

It's a shame that it's not an obvious sign of desperation on behalf of the republican party. But, it wouldn't be an election if folks didn't try to make things interesting. I do however feel bad about everyone getting into Palin's sh*t. As a woman I think it's very sexist but as a democrat, i'll allow it.

I think hillaryclintonforum.net is a sham. It looks like a Republican forum. I tried to register so I could post a comment, and it said the administrator had blocked the registration. I emailed to ask why I couldn't register, but I didn't receive a response.
