Heterosexual English playwright Simon Gray has died. Headlines the Independent: "Simon Gray, smoker and playwright, dies aged 71." (Also: "The writer, who had suffered from aneurysms and prostate cancer, began smoking at the age of seven.") His work, notes the Guardian, "summed up ... a whole tribe of emotionally undernourished Englishmen."
