Remember how a few of months ago Roman Abramovich demolished sales records by paying $34 million for a portrait by Lucian Freud? Well, now some idiot antiques book dealer—granted, "the best host in all Europe"—has gone and destroyed a similar era painting of himself by Freud because he didn't like how his double chin was represented. News came about after Freud wanted to include the painting in a show that would have likely fetched heirs of Bernard Breslauer, the man in the painting, a number similar to the Abramovich piece. It's a little like The Picture of Dorian Gray but with a whole new brand of idiot-narcissist. [Telegraph]
