The Gossip Girl season two premiere is nearly upon us, friends, and the CW gods have sent this extended preview down to sustain us until the holiday weekend passes and we can indulge. Much of the five minutes is devoted to a wrap-up of last season, but there are a few niblets of new stuff:

Nate makes out in a car with some woman who looks older. Possible cougar plotline?! Dan makes out with some pseudo-intellectual chick who is neither Vanessa nor Serena. Probable annoying plotline! Serena strolls the beach pursing her lips, wearing something shiny, and looking miserable. Chuck ogles some topless sunbathers and gets a text message from Blair. Blair! Where is Blair?! Not in this sneak peek except in flashbacks and texts. Which is sort of a bummer because she's the best thing about the show. Oh well, Monday then....
