Forbes Googles America's Top Rappers; Listicle Ensues

"After years of violent rivalry marked by the murders of such icons as Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., rap's focus has shifted from beef to cake—making money, that is," explains Forbes in their latest link-baiting listicle, "Hip-Hop's Cash Kings of 2008." (Emphasis ours.) Thanks for simplifying the difficult-to-parse rap lingo, guys. BUT WHAT DOES BEEF MEAN?! Please explain!

I guess we're part of the problem in that we occasionally link to these things, but it's hard to resist the allure of an easily digestible feature such as this during the dog days of August. In case you're wondering, 50 Cent, riding the strength of his $100 million Vitamin Water payout (it's worth nothing, as we pointed out before, that the $400 million he was initially reported to have made was inflated) heads up the list, with Jay-Z, Diddy, Kanye West, and Timbaland rounding out the top five.

But seriously, how many weeks will it be before they get so desperate that they start just spouting out random crap like the "Top 10 Fastest Fictional Cars" or whatever? Oh, wait.
