Disneyland Arrests Magical Serfs

Disneyland, just like every other company on earth, is trying to grow their class of part-time employees—you know, the ones that don't receive benefits and who the company can lay off whenever things seem tight. Service workers in their hotels, 2,300 of them, have been without a contract since February; they are paid less than other workers in the area and the company expects new full-time employees to pay for part of their health care, and to work more hours before they qualify for it at all. (They have two classes of workers—hotel workers have historically agreed to make less, because their health care has been fully-paid, and other workers pay part of their health insurance.) So workers had a protest, and 32 Snow Whites and winged fairies were HAULED OFF to the pokey. And then the witch who works for Disneyland told the AP that "workers have protested 14 times but sat down to negotiate only 11 times in the past six months." ELEVEN TIMES IN SIX MONTHS they have sat down with their bosses to hammer out a contract, and she's got the nerve to bitch about a protest? She should get some kind of "worst flack in the world" award.

I have a very basic question for the Snow Whites and Fairies: If you don't like your pay or your benefits or your hours or your boss, quit and go to work somewhere else. Unions are the most undemocratice organizations in the US, and need to have their legal protections taken from them. Unions have no place in a free society.

The US is ruled by corporations. They can throw as much money into lobbying and bribing the government as they need to make the laws suit them.
EXAMPLE Disney getting copyright extended so that their precious fucking mouse isn't public domain despite being I don't know a billion years old. My point is basically they can do almost any fucking thing they want.
"If you don't like your pay or your benefits or your hours or your boss, quit and go to work somewhere else. " doesn't cut it when the economy is forcing smaller businesses to cut down employees already. Unions are the tool of a free society. They are the lever against corporate greed and corrupt political practices. Maybe if this were truly a "free society" and not a police state looking out for corporate interests I could see your point, but your blind if you think that the corporate machine is not still being oiled with the blood of the American worker. And now if you'll excuse me I have to get back to watching the lion king and eating my big mac.

How are unions undemocratic? They allow workers to unite and make their voices heard. Are you even aware of working conditions before unions were legalized? Im not denying that current unions can have their problems, but redneck you're either brainwashed or a moron. Corporations abusing workers or aligning themselves as a way of exploiting people should never have been a part of our "free society" yet it was and continues to be. Obviously you're to ridiculous to have your opinion changed I just hope that others dont fall for your massive inability to behave to logic and reality
