In China, and other countries, companies are allowing men to wear 'shorts suits' because of the hot temperatures, not because it's a fashion statement. They find that it allows companies to keep the temperatures in offices slightly higher during the summer, thus saving on electricity costs.

It's funny how here in the states we'll point and laugh at someone wearing this, while elsewhere it is promoted as energy saving and cost efficient.

While I'm not 100% sold on the short suit -- maybe it will grow on me -- I do wish us guys had business appropriate clothing options for the summer months. It really is stupid to be forced into the same suit and tie as the temperature soars.

i'm 0º sold on the short suit and doubt that it will grow on me unless it could suddenly sprout arms and legs. men wearing these, especially in dicey areas, shouldn't marvel if they get assaulted, just for drill.

I'd have a hard time putting one on myself. I'd feel like I was trying to look like Angus Young of AC/DC.
It is a decent idea, but such a foreign one here in the states that it looks very out of place. And yeah, you might get your butt kicked in certain areas/bars,etc.

Can anyone shed light on what exactly the men are doing in that photo? They seem to be gazing at a slender tree in mutual appreciation. Or, perhaps with concern...

Are they male tree nymphs? Phallic symbol worshipers? Tree surgeons? (If the latter, perhaps the real question is: Are they dressed *appropriately* for the job?)
