With a bloodbath on the West Coast underway all this week and ongoing struggles at the Times on the East, the maybe-death throes of newspapers are not only louder but more deathier than ever. We don't hear as much about the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post struggling, but there's this: "the Post Company's newspaper division's operating margin was down 92 percent in the first quarter versus the same time last year." So what's the plan from the new publisher, Katharine Weymouth?
