Everyone is talking (and by "everyone," I mean the two people I had drinks with last night and the one person in Brooklyn that I IM'd with last night and the one in China I IM'd with early this morning) about the Washington Post 12-chapter serial on Chandra Levy. Today was Chapter 5! SPOILER ALERT! They have not told us who killed Chandra Levy yet! From my vast pool of reader reaction, two love it, one because they brought back the large-scale newspaper serial, which, hooray, and the other because, well it is kind of awesome crazy. (Yes, I did want to know that one of the last websites Levy visited was that of Baskin Robbins. WHY.) The other hates it because the Levy story "would never have happened if thanks to Monica people didn't think 'intern' was a Sex Word." True! And also because, like, so who killed her? Spit it out! Also it is a wee bit dry. But. Mostly the whole thing makes me hope that I never disappear, because can you imagine having your horrible, sleazy, embarrassing, boring, vain life reconstructed by police? URGH. Anyway! Only a rigorous reader of the Washington Post will not have missed the world's greatest commentary on the series.
