We haven't crafted a response yet but undoubtedly will." He adds, "We feel that the American people have a right to hear from their candidates. We don't ration the number of brands of toothpaste, we don't ration any kind of product, so why would we want to ration people's access to hearing their candidate?" Jeannie Kedas, executive vice president of communications at MTV, says she's trying to clear up some confusion. "It was misreported. We would consider and accept third-party advertisements on a case by case basis," she tells Radar. "You might want to tell Ralph Nader." For his part, Obama might welcome Nader ads during Date my Mom—assuming the increasingly irrelevant consumer advocate can scrape together the cash. (So far, the campaign has only produced Web ads.) The newest Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll found that the inclusion of third-party candidates Nader and Libertarian Bob Barr actually helps Obama.
