Some newspapers are going thrashing towards doom, even though only 12 percent of their paper costs are from news-gathering; the rest is all printing, distribution, production. Other newspapers have realized that the game is growing digital revenue; so they need to whore out their content. This morning's in-house New York Times e-mail from digital journalism honcho Jon Landman is fascinating.
