Madonna and A-Rod?

Whoa. The next issue of OK! magazine, out tomorrow, contains a story that claims stripper-loving slugger Alex Rodriguez and African child-loving singer Madonna are (maybe) having an affair. "Madonna and A-Rod—Sexy New Friends," reads the headline. From the story:
OK! has learned the pop superstar and baseball great have been hanging out for months, as her relationship with her 39-year-old director hubby [Guy Ritchie] fizzled. Last October, Madonna and Alex were spotted working out together at Reebok Sports Club/NY in Manhattan, according to an online source. Two months later, Alex raised eyebrows by bringing in Madonna's close friend, entertainment manager Guy Oseary—who, incidentally, has no sports background—to help steer his career...
To recap:

1) A-Rod and Madonna share the same manager, and 2) went to the same gym more than seven months ago, which means 3) they are totally boning. (We assume Ok! also talked to a various "close friends" of both A-Rod and Madonna who corroborated the friendship and gabbed about how Madonna feels like she can really trust Alex and about how there are "sparks flying" between the two, but we haven't seen the story in full.)

Madonna's marital status seems to change every day—the latest, per her mother-in-law, is that she and Ritchie are still together, though it appears the couple is headed for divorce. Rodriguez has never been particularly discreet with his extramarital dealings, most notably getting busted exiting a Toronto hotel with a blond exotic dancer last March.

Keeping with the logic that it's better to ignore these things than address them directly, Rodriguez's publicist said he had "no comment on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez" when OK! reached him for comment. We should point out that this coupling does make sense on paper, given Rodriguez's penchant for "muscular" types and Madonna's rather impressive biceps.
