It never ceases to amaze me when people who don't study the bible or even read it have such strong OPINIONS about it. Obviously, Whoopie believes that the BIBLE is the authority on how we are to live since she is using it as the premise for her conclusion that since the bible DOES NOT SAY anything against homosexuality then it must be all right. Actually she has gone further - she has re-written what is actually in the bible.

Let us look at the bible. God here gives moral precepts. Close and constant adherence to God's ordinances is the most effectual preservative from gross sin. These laws are repeated both in the old and new testaments because of their grave corruption to our salvation.

OLD TESTAMENT
Leviticus 18:22
You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

NEW TESTAMENT
1 Timothy 1:9-11
realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

Yes, the new testament has a list of those who are ungodly and sinners. So what DO OPINIONS matter if the BIBLE clearly states that HOMOSEXUALITY is a sin.
