Don Imus Was Able To Go A Good Seven Months Without Making Some Boneheaded Racist Remark

Remember when radio host Don Imus got in a lot of trouble for making fun of black people and then came back chastened, with a new tolerance and sensitivity and understanding of how his hurtful remarks were borne out of ignorance? And then he wasn't ever racist again? Yeah, us too. [Politico]

its about time imus came back to life. when are people going to relax, and just enjoy the comedy,

Wow. jackbnimble this is not comedy.
I think that comments like his perpetuate the myth that all black people do is get in trouble with the law. It's ignorant and extremely racist and divisive. Now if he made some type of indication that he was joking, then that's comedy, but he didn't, so I feel like it should be taken as his true thoughts and feelings.
I do agree however that it's good that the real Imus came back. The political correctness of our society infuriates me. Everyone should be free to be who they are and how they are. If you don't like certain people or a certain race of people, then own up to that. But you should also be willing to own up to the consequences that come with your actions. Backtracking and trying to apologize only after you receive flack for your actions is very transparent.
His comments are upsetting, but it's the apology afterwards that is truly upsetting to me because everyone knows that it's not genuine. Especially when the same exact thing happens not even a year later.

The comments during the radio show also seem very unfair to nightclubs.
