Selling Drugs, Selling Politicians

pillspillspills.jpg
The realization that "The Change you Deserve," the new theme for beleaguered congressional Republicans, was also once used to market the antidepressant Effexor, got us thinking: What other well-phrased pharmaceutical marketing slogans could politicians put to work? Wasn't it Hillary Clinton who said "a great tomorrow starts tonight" when she trounced Obama in West Virginia this past Tuesday? No, that's actually the slogan for the sleep aid Lunesta, but it totally would have worked! Some other possibilities:

Slogan: Understand the risks, see the benefits.
Actually for: Celebrex (good for the arthritis, not so good for the heart)
Could also work for: Hope addict Barack Obama

Slogan: Use it or lose it.
Actually for: Men's Rogaine Foam ("the first and only FDA-approved hair regrowth foam!")
Could also work for: John "I'm finally endorsing someone" Edwards

Slogan: It's time for an honest voice, a promise kept...
Actually for: Alli (weight loss pill with pants-soiling side effects)
Could also work for: "Straight talker" John McCain

Slogan: On the quitting road, it's all about getting there.
Actually for: Chantix (smoking cessation med)
Could also work for: Hillary Clinton. You know why.

Slogan: If a relaxing moment turns into the right moment, you can be ready.
Actually for: 36-Hour Cialis (erectile dysfunction drug with a long duration of action)
Could also work for: Larry Craig
