Roger Clemens: "Uh, About Those Affairs..."

ON SECOND THOUGHT, I MAY HAVE ACCIDENTALLY LAID SOME MARRIED CHICKS Clemens
This is just getting awkward: After denying for the past week that he had been involved in a handful of extramarital affairs with everyone from a drugged up country singer to the ex-wife of golfer John Daly, truth-challenged former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens has finally decided to apologize for what he describes as "mistakes in his personal life." Says the Rocket, in a statement to the Houston Chronicle: "Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right."

One of those incorrect choices was clearly filing the defamation of character suit against his former trainer Brian McNamee back in January, which is what opened up Clemens to the character assault in the first place. Shockingly, he hasn't yet dropped the suit, though he'd be wise to do so soon: McNamee's lawyers are saying they'll depose any women rumored to have had an affair with Clemens, as well as his wife, kids, and former teammates. We can't imagine that'd be good for anyone.

Clemens, of course, is still sticking by his claim that he never used performance enhancing drugs. "I believe my personal life has nothing to do with the accusations of steroid and HGH use," he said. Congress and a judge might think otherwise.
