As if anyone could imagine an even tinier version of Pete Wentz, the Fall Out Boy bassist and his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (she took the name), are expecting a wee-mo.

Has it been nine months yet? Feels like it. Here's a history of the alleged pregnancy, from conception to confirmation—in the happy couple's own words.

• "There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover.... I mean really, this is crazy.... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it."—Wentz in an e-mail to MTV on April 14

• "There is something very insane being cooked up this summer cant speak on it yet. But keep your eyes out."—Wentz via his friendsandenemies.com blog Meelikey, May 15

• "I'm pregnant," Ashlee, supposedly via a friend at her May 17 wedding at the Simpson compound

• "Ryan, this baby has not been confirmed.... I kinda get the backdoor question you're asking me, you know, on that one, but, uh, to be honest with you, it's something we've been planning for a long time."—Wentz not really confirming questions from journalist (or not? Call and vote!) Ryan Seacrest, on his radio show on May 20.

• "While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."—Wentz on friendsorenemies.com on Wednesday, May 28

Say, what's that incorrigible Paris Hilton up to?
