< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Jay-Z Explains His Vietnam Flashback
MARCY MERCY Ernie Adams' classic Vietnam shot, Jay (inset) Asked about the political footage that plays during his concerts, including Ernie Adams' infamous Vietnam execution photo and whether he picked the footage personally, Jay said, "Yeah of course [I picked it], it's my show." Why stop it before the shot is fired? "I didn't want to [show the execution]. We're there to have a good time so I didn't want to make it too heavy. I just wanted to touch on it a bit, so people get the idea and understand what I'm trying to say and then we can all move on. I didn't want to go so deep that everyone's in a bad mood. I didn't want to be depressing," the rapper said before flashing a smile and slipping inside.
