On May 14, New York governor David Paterson issued a directive to all state agencies to make changes in their regulations that would allow New York to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. Video of the governor announcing the change to a Rochester Empire State Pride Agenda fund-raiser can be found above. Whether or not you're willing to sit through the whole five minutes of this semi-historic announcement, do skip ahead to the 4:45 minute mark. For a politician, this guy is pretty damn funny. [NYO]
