According to the 83-year old Adams, Siegfried, 66, is "handsome as ever," whereas 60-year-old Roy looked "astonishingly good," especially given the fact that he was nearly mauled to death in 2003 by Montecore, his white tiger.
The duo traveled with an assistant, a male nurse, and a female nurse, the latter of whom "supported (Roy) to and from the john, rubbed his fingers with hand cream, tucked in a blanket that shielded his legs, and helped him into a wheelchair on and off the plane." (We're probably better off not knowing what tasks were bestowed upon the male nurse.)
Unfortunately, it seems that the tiger attack was kind of a buzz kill for Siegfried and Roy—they tell Cindy that they'll no longer be working, save for the occasional charity event. Sad! But Roy's actions indicate he doesn't harbor any lingering resentment for the creature that nearly took his life. Says Cindy: "At customs, as we exited together, Roy reached slightly behind him, pulled out a tiny stuffed white tiger and handed it to me. 'Please,' he said. 'Keep this.'" If that's not enough to bring a tear to your dark heart, you probably don't even believe in magic.
