None other than Us Weekly has joined us in acknowledging the rise of fashion's new power posse! In its April 28 issue, the celebrity weekly has named scripted reality's caramel queen Lauren Conrad as its Celebrity Designer of the Year! Bitchy bloggers are already upchucking over the decision, but Us gushes, "From fashion student to fashionista, the MTV star made a bold move with her Lauren Conrad Collection."

Why, just yesterday, The Hills star and former Teen Vogue intern dished to Us that she had chopped off her hair in a short-lived power move but so missed her locks that she now sports extensions. Oh, and she went on to talk about fashion and whatnot, explaining that it's kind of, like, work, and saying she's already developing her holiday, resort, and spring lines. "It's crazy, I'm already working on another one," she tells Us, offering a sneak peek at her upcoming design aesthetic and, perhaps, a bit of insight into her crossover appeal. "It's all about the waist for me."
