The minority of over-16-year-olds experiencing the silky pleasure of Teri Hatcher's throat on Idol Gives Back Wednesday night may remember the last time she tried to sing on national TV—in 1989 on MacGyver. Hatcher played the Mac's sister-like friend Penny Parker, who stared in a hit musical called Cleo Rocks. MacGyver watches her act then spends the rest of the episode trying to fashion her some dignity out of a half-used tube of caulk and some old dental floss.
