< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Facebook Responsible for British Kids Acting Like Hooligans
The latest victim is poor 17-year-old Sarah Ruscoe. Ruscoe, who lives in a big old 21-bedroom Georgian manor, decided to post details of her upcoming birthday party on social networking site Bebo without telling mommy. Next thing she knew, 2,000 people were at her door (a local radio DJ had even mentioned it on air), swigging vodka, urinating all over the place, and trashing valuable family heirlooms. Luckily, Sarah's mom is very understanding! "I blame the modern means of communication," she says. Another 15-year-old girl's party took a turn for the worst after a group known as "The Facebook Republican Army" showed up, spilled four inches of beer on the carpet (is that even possible?), gave her dog Ecstasy, and started banging her friends on the washing machine. Another girl says she only invited 40 people to her birthday party, but someone "hacked" into her MySpace account and invited a whole lot more, resulting in her "average-sized" house getting "raped." At least that's the excuse she gave her mom! "There used to be a time (admittedly, it seems like a lifetime ago) when youngsters sent out invitations," the Mail laments. "The Internet has changed all that." Did you hear that, parents? Lock up the computers and throw away the keys! Your kids aren't irresponsible for throwing parties they very well know have the potential to get seriously out of hand. It's the Internet's fault.
