PELLICANO-NO Slate's bad ID, the real Pellicano (inset, upper right)
Slate posted a piece in its Hollywoodland column at about 4:30 p.m. today about the wiretapping P.I. to the stars, Anthony Pellicano, who's currently on trial in L.A., and the Pelican has never looked better! Except that's not him. It's journalist John Connolly, who's been writing about Pellicano since 1994, when the dick threatened to beat up Connolly after his first story ran in Spy. Connolly is writing The Sin Eater about Pellicano for Simon & Schuster imprint Atria Books. It's due out later this year. He just arrived in L.A. this week for the trial.
"Quite frankly I'm horrified," Connolly told Radar (he's a contributor) after learning about his pic on Slate. "He's a convicted felon facing 110 counts of RICO Act violations, and there's my picture. It offends me." Plus, Connolly added, "That's not even my best side."
