"Are you self-centered, arrogant, or conceited? Do you have a strong need for recognition? You must have a Mac," according to a recent survey of 7500 Mac and PC users conducted by Mindset Media.

The results should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen the ubiquitous Justin Long/John Hodgman "I'm a Mac" ads and found Long, the Macintosh, to be a smug, insufferable little twit. Mac users are more vain than PC users (they are more likely to use teeth whitening products and buy shoes); they fancy themselves "self-important, extraordinary, and intellectually curious;" and they're more likely to buy organic produce, drive a hybrid, and drink Starbucks.

They're also—surprise!—self-satisfied: 70 percent of Mac users surveyed claim they are happy with their purchase, compared to 59 percent of PC users.
