A report in yesterday's Sunday Times (UK) notes that Morrissey—hero to those who are still sixteen-year-old girls at heart and a surprising number of Mexicans—"is planning to play a concert in Iran as his contribution to the international healing process." Whether or not the former Smiths' star's diffident warblings of his feeble solo material (admit it, everything since Your Arsenal has just been embarrassing) will somehow bring us closer to a rapprochement with our Persian enemies is a question better left to experts on international relations, but we hope the governments of Britain and Iran are somehow able to make this happen, if only for Moz's female fans over there, many of whom wear hajibs on the outside because that's how they feel on the inside they're afraid of being stoned to death by religious zealots.
