Will Super Bowl Upset Help Hillary in New York?

DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE Voting Booth
As voters in 24 states head to the polls today to help select their parties' nominee for president, the New York Post takes a look at how the Giants' Super Bowl victory over the previously undefeated (and now stunningly defeated) New England Patriots might affect the race in one of the contest's biggest prizes: New York. Seems there's some speculation that Giants fans, reveling in their victory over what was once considered to be the greatest team of all time (but is now relegated to an 18-1 record and a designation as one of sports' biggest choking victims) might forego the primary altogether so they can attend the parade celebrating the massive, unprecedented upset. And that's bad news for Barack Obama, apparently.

Hunter College professor Ken Sherrill tells the paper that Hillary Clinton supporters tend to be the women and the old people, many of whom have no interest in the parade because football is such a dumb game that you need to have a penis to understand it or they're afraid of the young people with their boisterousness and hooded sweatshirts. Obama voters, on the other hand, are the youth of today, many of whom have the best intentions of pulling the lever but will wind up blowing it off after sucking down a few beers while watching Eli Manning and company go by.

It's surely possible that today's events may very well cost Obama a few votes here and there, but Radar prefers to remain optimistic that New Yorkers will join the rest of the country in exercising their democratic franchise. After all, even fashion editors—the world's busiest people—have all expressed the intention to vote, and they have to contend with both the parade and the chaos that is Fashion Week. And they operate on less than 100 calories a day! The rest of you have no excuse. Get out there and vote.
