Arizona Republican Indicted ... No Not That One

  • AP is reporting that Republican Rep. Rick Renzi was indicted Friday on charges of extortion, wire fraud, money laundering, and more in Arizona. He's accused of collecting hundreds of thousands in payoffs in a land swap scam—in the heart of John McCain country. The presumed 2008 Republican nominee told reporters in reaction to his fellow Arizona Republican's bust that he didn't know enough to make a judgment on the case but said, "You always feel for the family." And by family, he means the co-chair of his home-state's presidential campaign committee. [WSJ]
