Anand Jon a Victim of Prejudice

SEX CHARGED Anand (center), lovelies
Anand Jon, the extraordinarily creepy Indian fashion designer who has been charged with dozens of counts of rape, sexual battery, forced oral copulation, and sexual exploitation of a child by dozens of women aged 14 to 23 in three states, still has two allies on his side: his sister and his lawyer.

"This demonisation is [happening] because he broke into an industry where Americans find difficult to break into," says sister Sanjana. His attorney concurs. "Anand's phenomenal success raised a few eyebrows ... they could not digest it." Not helping his case is the fact that the girls accusing him of rape hate brown people: "Racial discrimination could be a factor," his lawyer adds.

His victims, of course—all young aspiring models looking for their first big break—tell another story: namely, that Jon promised to help jump-start their careers if only they would kindly consent to engaging in sexual intercourse with him—and then leave him alone to meditate. On the off chance this all is one big misunderstanding, though, Jon, currently being held in a Los Angeles jail cell, will hopefully have had time to work on his pick-up tactics. According to one former publicist of his, he once propositioned a 19-year-old girl by telling her, "You have a very comfortable neck, would you like to have sex with me?"

He faces life in prison if convicted.

I don't expect RADAR to uphold high standards for journalistic integrity but really, calling a man -- innocent until proven guilty -- "extraordinarlly creepy" in the first line doesn't bode well for objectivity. Why not wait for his day in court to start calling him names?

I agree with Do1978 re: the disgusting lack of objectivity here. This man has not been convicted of any crime and is forced to sit in solitary confinement until he can have his day in court. He hasn't even been given the chance to make his case yet - but let me tell you now that there is ZERO physical evidence of him being a rapist. Oh yeah, and one other thing - there is a mountain of evidence that all of the accusers continue to visit him MANY times after the alleged "rapes" took place. Phone records, email records, plane tickets, instant messages... I am so glad that government officials are getting involved to advocate for Anand Jon. This is such a horrible load of crap and it won't be long until the truth comes out and sets him free.
