The American fashion community is no doubt breathing a sigh of relief today with the news that designing hardbody Marc Jacobs isn't decamping to Paris next season after the recent flap over his show's well-documented tardiness. Instead, next season he's going to be taking one of the very last slots at Fashion Week, at 7 p.m. on February 8, in order to make sure his samples arrive on time.

Fashion ladies who live to complain about how Jacobs's late-starting fashion shows eat into their dinner hours at Bobo can also relax. Robert Duffy, Jacobs's business partner, noted: "I cannot guarantee that Marc won't be late. One thing I do know is that he will try to have the best show he can, and [to do that] he will want to finish every piece and make each one as beautiful as possible. If it comes late, it comes late. This way, even if he's two hours late, people can still go to dinner at 9 or 9:30." By which, of course, he's saying the style tribe can go to a scene-y place and push their food around on their plates.

Either way, this means the only party worth attending during Fashion Week will be somewhere (you can't get into) that Friday night and will extend into the wee hours of Saturday morning. Plan your cater-waiter crashing outfits now!
