When you've got a beboaed blimp of a son who destroys dogs and buffets with equal fervor, the idea of a pregnant 16-year-old doesn't seem so bad. Just ask Republican It-boy Mike Huckabee, who recently told reporters that he wouldn't condemn mommy-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears, and he's glad she's having the baby.

"Apparently, she's going to have the child and I think that is the right decision, a good decision, and I respect that and appreciate it. I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action. But at the same time I'm not going to condemn her," he said.

There you have it. Mike Huckabee is for the impregnation of teens whose family history places them somewhere between pageant moms and Andrea Yates in the pantheon of bad parenting. Run with it, Mitt!
