Shankman: Do Tase Me, Bro

Last Friday, the UN Committee Against Torture issued a statement concerning the use of tasers by zealous law enforcement officials across the world. Their message was clear and forceful: "Don't tase anyone, bros."

Actually, it said that tasers "constituted a form of torture," a sentiment that the hordes of people who have died at the hand of the taser would likely agree with (you know, if they hadn't been tased to death). One person who is bristling at the UN's claim, though, is PR man and experienced tase-ee Peter Shankman.

"I wouldn't call it torture. I think there are a lot worse things that you can do that are torture—pulling out someone's tooth, waterboarding—that could be considered torture," Shankman told Radar. "It didn't hurt per se. It was just sort of a bad ass wake up call."

Shankman enjoyed his tase-ing so much that he might get shocked again at an upcoming tech conference. Or even better, he might try out some more deterrents. "I kind of want to get pepper sprayed," he said.
