If Prince William's presumed future bride Kate Middleton were in some sort of "modern princess" Disney flick, she'd have a career as an ER doctor or an environmental lawyer. She'd wear Converse All-Stars and undergo some sort of dramatic makeover before she got her tiara. In reality, however, British tabs are crying foul over the royal girlfriend quitting her part-time job at a fashion label because she needs "some time to herself." And judging by her chic stiletto boots and white trenches, she's already dressing the part of one accustomed to being pursued by the paparazzi.

Is Kate just a senseless socialite in the making, gearing herself up for a lifetime of gauzy Hello! spreads? Middleton has told friends and former colleagues that she intends to pursue her own personal photography, perhaps one day opening a gallery, but sources close to the palace are apparently in a huff over her decision, with one saying•"She just seems to be killing time until William finally pops the question, which seems a little desperate in this day and age."

Her choice of a second act also seems a tad peculiar. Given the fact that Middleton is hotly pursued by paps daily, we're guessing she's probably going to stick to shooting still life (and defenseless woodland creatures).
