In a revelation worth a million parental I-told-you-so's, the California wildfires were likely started by a Santa Clarita boy playing with matches (so grounded!). The fires damaged 38,000 acres and destroyed 21 homes, and prosecutors are considering pressing charges. "He admitted to playing with matches and accidentally starting the fire," an L.A. County Sheriff's spokesperson said.

No word yet whether the Santa Ana winds that fueled the fires were started by a youngster who failed to cover his mouth when he coughed. [AP via My Way via Drudge]
