Fred Thompson earned kudos yesterday for an uncharacteristically high-voltage performance Monday night in front of the New York Conservative Party. While the video on National Review Online
does indeed show flashes of vigor that have thus far not been associated with folksy Fred's late-comer campaign, Radar notes a stage-pacing similarity with the above clip of a younger, chubbier Thompson bringin' it on TV's Wiseguy with a multi-thread tirade against the Jews, illegal immigrants, and "the Asiatics." Content specifics aside, we think it better showcases the full range of Thompson's skills as a crowd-pleasin' tub-thumper.
This was a very disturbing video. As a Ron Paul supporter, I can only hope than millions of (former) Thompson supporter see this and think he is a latter-day Hilter; "pure blood" and "ordained superiority." Dear God this is a fright to watch. It proves a few things to my satisfaction: Thompson cannot act, nor speak effectively, nor has anything of substance to offer our Republic. He is pretty good on Law & Order, however.
More shots at Fred. Fred is the only one that tells the truth and has courage. ron Paul would make a good president of France, not the US. Ron Paul is Jimmy Carter lite.
