GONZO GOES GOLFIN' Gonzales

In a final act of lawlessness before he left office, Alberto Gonzales may have violated the guest policy at D.C.'s tony Chevy Chase club last Saturday afternoon. Apparently, members (whose ranks include Alan Greenspan, Sandra Day O'Connor, and Bill Frist) all had their start times pushed back so another unidentified member and his guests, Al Gonzales and Condi Rice (Condi's a big golfer ... huh), could tee off immediately.

The only problem is that the club expressly forbids guests from playing small ball on the weekends. The sight of Ali G in golf clothes was reported to be "pretty much what you'd expect from Al Gonzales in golf clothes." One club member was overheard remarking within earshot of the sweltering former AG, "Now they know what it feels like to be stuck in Iraq," prompting loud chuckles from the Secret Service detail.
