David Blaine has mastered the art of levitation but not the art of seduction. The poor man's Criss Angel and yesterday's Mystery, Blaine's been a fly on the wall of nearly every Hamptons club this summer, trying out a new trick: making beautiful women disappear the minute he walks up.

At Pink Elephant a few weekends back, the illusionist (who's gained some weight since his hiatus from physical feats), waddled around the outside deck of the club, nursing drinks and sweating all over any woman within striking distance. "At one point, he actually leered at a model who was dancing with her date in the corner. She was so creeped out, she hid behind her man for protection," one spy tells Radar.

Later, a bevy of beautiful models holding court at a table screamed for Blaine to come over to them, and when he did, one immediately stuck her foot up on his shoulder, exposing her undies to the bewildered magician. Blaine ultimately leaned in close (to her face) for some chit-chat, only to have the model point to his drink and remark, "Are you going to smash this one too?"—a reference to Blaine's much-observed habit of grabbing drinks from girls and throwing them to the ground. Clearly weakened by his success rate, the illusionist sheepishly smiled and offered a meek, "No, I'm going to drink it," but the model had already turned her attentions to a male model.

When the trickster turned his attention to another leggy lass and whipped out his impressive iPhone to reveal the secrets of the gadget's magic, he was rebuffed by her as well, and our lowly magic-man sauntered off alone. The model later laughed to Radar, "Oh, I'd never give him my number. He's kinda gross."

In perhaps the saddest turn, Blaine, hired by the Hampton Social @ Ross group to perform magic tricks for the crowds during the $15,000 summer concert series (featuring Billy Joel, Dave Matthews, James Taylor, and more), no longer takes care to protect his trick setups. "He'd meet his four pals near the back of the bleachers, thumb through his deck of cards, give each of his buddies a card, and coordinate who was to meet him where for the conclusion of his tricks," said another snitch. "He was so obvious that it was shocking."
