REEKS OF PUBLICITY Alan's other shocking screen gem [NSFW]
Viewers were reportedly outraged yesterday at a New York screening of actor, director, perfumer Alan Cumming's new film, Suffering Man's Charity. Page Six wrote that "several people left and one woman fainted" during "gruesome torture scene involving a scantily clad David Boreanaz and a whip."
"First off, it wasn't a whip, it was a cello bow," says Cumming, who spoke with Radar to set the record straight. The sprightly Scot, who directed, produced, and starred in the film—set to hit theaters in early 2008 if all goes well with a distribution deal—is skeptical that anyone collapsed during the screening.
"How do you even faint in a chair?" Cumming asked. "Is that possible? I know someone vomited once. And perhaps people felt faint. I would understand that. And I kind of like it in a way; it's like a fair ride. It's meant to be scary, but you laugh afterwards."
And what, exactly, is the scene that will have audiences cracking up (slash vomiting everywhere)? "The scene," Cumming tells Radar, "involves [former Angel] Boreanaz in a bra and panties, strapped to a chair, and wrapped in Christmas lights. There is a long sequence where I torture him with the bow and there are all these blood spurts, and then you think I am going to set him on fire. It's funny—almost hilarious in parts."
While we can't bring you that laugh-a-minute clip just yet, we dug up something almost equally as brutal involving Cumming and a naked chest. [Above, NSFW.]
