The MySpace Friend Race '08
Posted on Oct 27, 2008 @ 04:07PM

Radar continues to track the '08 presidential race the high school way: by tallying the candidates' MySpace friends (only those with at least 1,000 qualified).
It's as though the front-runners, so clearly better-versed in MySpacery than their competitors, know something the other candidates do not. Are their numbers due to huge staffs of volunteers manning the networking site day and night? Weekends, too? Are the other candidates and potential candidates even aware there's a heated MySpace race that may determine the course not only of their political careers but of influence the world over?
Take Al Gore. We've picked up on assorted theories about the former VP's potential candidacy in the past, but judging by the look of his meager MySpace associations, all signs point to his being content in the lower realm of Screechdom, and thus on the sidelines of the race for the presidency. Gore's lost four friends since last week, down to a gimpy 2,579. By contrast, Jonathan the Impaler, whose heart clearly seems in it, lays claim to 48,111 friends.
