• Ogre down, one to go: The early favorite and amazingly Shrek-like Melinda Doolittle gets tossed off American Idol, much to Simon Cowell's dismay.

• How the other half lives: In an attempt to draw attention to the plight of America's food stamp recipients, Massachusetts Representative Jim McGovern and his wife live on a $3 per day food budget. Predictably, it sucks.
