A note to the depraved ladies and gents still devastated by the news that SocialiteRank has folded: Though he won our poll, writer Derek Blasberg says he had nothing to do with the near-illiterate, now defunct scratching post.

Blasberg tells Radar: "As much as I think I should maintain a 'no comment' policy here, the temptation to clear my name is too great. I want nothing to do with that site, have had nothing to do with that site, and the accusation that I would be behind that site insults my fledgling career, my profession, and my relationships with some of the ladies that, like me, are horrified by their inclusion on the site."

So the maniacal culprit is still on the loose. Sources close to this drama tell Radar that Blasberg might be named in a forthcoming New York magazine story, but it's unclear how the article's author, Isaiah Wilner, could out Blasberg when sources say the two have yet to even speak. Wilner refused to comment on any aspect of his reporting for the story, and a spokesperson for New York said it's the magazine's policy not to comment on stories that may or may not be running.

Until the next chapter, there's always speculation about our favorite Russians, Valentine and Olga Rei, to keep this investigation alive.
