Super Intern Emily Weiss, Part II

weiss3.jpg
CINCH IT! Weiss in Marc and Marni
Whether she's revealing her possible violation of child labor laws, snapping glossies of her Connecticut manse, air-kissing editors, or pairing Marc with Marni, who isn't obsessed with Teen Vogue uber-intern Emily Weiss? Just like her fellow fame-grubbing MTVamps Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port from The Hills, she brings out the hungry intern in all of us, the one who wishes she, too, had a contributing editor spot on a glossy masthead while still in college.

After the jump, we scrape together the latest on the greatest teen mag puppet since Atoosa Rubenstein.

• Just scraping by the New York State Child Labor Act, Emily scored a summer internship with Ralph Lauren at age 15. This from a 2005 article from the Wilton Villager (full scan below), which also reveals that Weiss has her heart set on an EIC position, that she began "scheming" from the moment she arrived at NYU, and that the TV staff trusts her to say what's "cool."

• Her family owns a mansion (pictured below) in luxurious Wilton, Connecticut, where they moved in the '90s from (gasp) Atlanta, Georgia. Wait. Is that vinyl siding? Would Lagerfeld approve?

• A former Wilton classmate tells Radar that even with her $1,000 Balenciaga bags and designer duds, Emily is "a huge penny pincher." We're sure those budgeting skills will come in handy when she is putting writers on contract in a few years or deciding how much to tip the help during the holidays.

Wow, this is some really juicy stuff radar! A hard working girl from CT who really likes her job and is following her ambitions to work at a fashion magazine. I guess it's shocking that not all reality TV "celebrities" are alcoholics, racists or douche bags. I guess the story here is...she's so normal it's shocking? May be her parents live in a mansion because they are hard working too. I think the people at Radar need to work a little harder and find something more interesting to write about.

She started at 15-that is pretty unbelievable. Most kids would rather hang out at the mall.
